I can help you

So let me tell you how I work.

I am an integrative counsellor, this means that I am trained and have experience in several different counselling methods. The benefit of this is I can blend more than one approach to suit your needs, in order to establish the one style that works for you. I adapt to meet your needs.

Whatever has brought you here, I will encourage you to explore your thoughts and feelings, supporting you towards resolution.

Many of my clients say they have been shutting their problems away for many years, and tell me that they cannot carry on; those problems won't be ignored any longer. We can unpack them and deal with them one by one, making it a far less overwhelming process.

I offer a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space in a comfortable and homely environment. Telephone and Zoom sessions are also available during Covid-19 restrictions.

This is an extract of words written by a former client.

"I came to Fiona suffering with panic disorder. We looked at my childhood and growing up in a dysfunctional, violent family, the way I'd avoided my emotions through active addiction and alcoholism for nearly forty years. I had seen a psychologist through the national health service for a few years, they diagnosed PTSD. Fiona helped me gain coping methods so now when I feel the panic coming on I can re-set myself and calm down. I still have triggers for the panic, however now I feel I have control over it, a very far cry from a year ago. My confidence had taken a knock and Fiona helped me get out and about, helping me to feel at ease being out of my comfort zone. What I feel I benefited the most from my time with Fiona was her ability to look at the bigger picture, something when I was trapped in my own despair, I was unable to do."
